Reserving your trip

GALAPAGOS RESERVATIONS & BOOKINGS

With any given package (depending on how far in advance one is planning), you can usually make a tentative reservation (or hold) for a limited time. In order to make a definate or tentative reservation for a Galapagos tour package, you will need to provide the following information:

  • First / Last name – as they appear in your passport;
  • Passport number (and copy of passport)
  • Dietary or other restrictions;
  • Date of bith & Nationality;
  • Preffered bed arrangement (twin beds, double bed, single bed);
  • Local (Quito or Guayaquil) contact details;
  • Prefered roundtrip Galapagos flight routing

Most hotels and boats require either a deposit or full payment to secure your reservation(s).  For reservations made in advance, the majority require a minimum (i.e., 20 or 30%) deposit, with the balance (i.e., 70 or 80%) payment either upon arrival or within a determined period of time prior to the start of your services.

Make sure that the respective payment and cancelation policies are clearly explained to you … a preferably in writing.

It is best to have your service provider (or travel agent) provide you with a written statement of what is and is not included in your services, along with an itinerary (if applicable).

It is strongly recommended to take out travel/health insurance from your country of origin- it’s a small price to pay for piece of mind and coverage for unforeseen events that may occur (i.e., delayed or cancelled flights, illness, lost luggage etc).  Murphy’s Law … when you really need it, you don’t have it.  Best to have it and not need it then not have and need it!
